What is the Endohousing Project?
Energy saving in domestic houses by Endothermic collector roof
The project will explore the potential of using endothermic collectors as the roofs and cladding structures in domestic houses to provide cost effective and environmentally friendly thermal energy for a variety of latitudes in the EU

The technical objectives of the project are:
  • To determine the energy requirements for space heating, hot water and cooling over the year in different regions of the EU.
  • To formulate a linkage between the energy requirements and the design parameters for selecting and sizing the components of the endothermic system.
  • To design and set up six test endohouses in different climatic regions of the EU.
To perform monitoring of the test endohouses and climatic variables over long periods covering the heating and cooling
    seasons.
  • To assess the performances of the endothermic houses and optimise the endothermic systems' operations. The criteria for these are related to technical and economic issues, robustness and reliability factors and the user friendliness of the overall system.
  • To generalise the results for wide spread use in different regions of the EU with different climatic regimes.

Scientific Background:
  • Simulation and control of endothermic systems.
  • Best practice of energy saving technologies in Endohouses.
  • Optimisation of energy saving technology.
